I am a new Eclipse owner I purchased a 2001 Eclipse Spyder GT with the 3 liter V6 it has 114,000 miles on it. I purchased the car from someone who had wrecked it. I have put the car back together but for some reason I am not getting a reading on my temperature gauge on the instrument panel. I have a couple pigtails that I have not been able to find out where they plug in at under the hood one has a purple and white and a yellow wire the other has a red and green and black wire could these two pigtails have anything to do with my temperature guage not working.

They could, but we don't really share any common ground with the 3G eclipse
You should check with the 3g owners

But a good step would be to take a scan tool with a live display and see if from the OBD it sees temperatures even. If it saw it on the OBD and not on the cluster, you'd have a start point. Or if it's not OBD either, you know it's not reading. Either a bad sensor or bad wiring/grounds
