Introduce myself...

Hi everyone, I've been lurking the forums for years, so even though you guys have never seen me, I've read a lot of your posts and wanted to say thanks to everyone who posts on these forums. Especially the how to guides and people who keep their photos working years after they posted (you seriously are great).
So I've owned my 2006 Eclipse GT since it had 37 miles on it. It was my daily driver for the last 13 years, but I recently bought a new SUV and suddenly found I could do ANYTHING I wanted to the 4G, since I was no longer reliant on it for getting to work.
So... let the fun begin... actually several months ago. I'm still at it.
I will be adding to this thread with some of the stuff I'm doing/have done to my girl. After driving a new, very quiet vehicle for over 6 months, the sound dampening had become a priority for me, which is what I've been doing all week.
Photos are coming, I hope a few of you enjoy my ride.

on with the show...

Now that it's not 2am, I thought I'd make a proper post to kind of give everyone an idea of where I am, where I was, and where I'm going with my Eclipse.
So here are a few photos...
This first one is my car in 2015 before I started doing anything to it. It's a stock 2006 GT with a 432 code (yup, 2nd bank cat fouled), stock 17'' rims and a Razzi body kit, which I'm pretty sure I've completely replaced at least twice, every single piece.
The first thing I did, since I was in need of new tires anyways, was find some fully restored OEM 18'' rims and I absolutely loved how they look. I should have done that years ago.
At around this same time, I got a set of RRE stainless steel headers and deleted those pesky cats. I also threw on a AEM cold air intake (short tube right now) and topped off that whole upgrade with an RRE axle back magnaflow exhaust. That pretty much took care of the diminished power I was having from the cats. I also put on a brand new stock set of struts and shocks. I'm not sure if I would have liked the way aftermarket shocks or coil overs would have changed the handling after being used to it stock for so many years. I'd love to hear how any of you feel about your after market suspension, if you use your car mainly for daily driver (or spirited weekend fun, off track). Getting new suspension really tightened the old girl up and inspired me to invest more in getting her back to real "fun" condition again.
Cosmetically, I also had a lot of oxidation on the headlights and all the rubber trim (see picture). I addressed this with 1000 grit and 2000 grit wet sanding. I'm waiting for the southern humidity to drop below 50% long enough to clear coat the headlights so they will stay clear, before I put on a pair of eyelids.
I'm also considering covering the trim with plastidip/glossifier. It's been about 3 weeks since I sanded them and so far they don't seem to be having any trouble, but they are more silky/satin looking now rather than the shiny original finish (tell me what you guys think of this idea).
On my next post I'll show my progress on sound dampening the interior and a really cool mod I've been working on for the factory spoiler (also waiting on clear coat, this freaking humidity is awful).
