what method did you guys use to tune your car? I was going to pick up a Cobb access port, but I dont know my ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to actually tuning. I can bolt on parts all day but this is something I never attempted yet.

There’s no Cobb or handheld tuner for this car

U need a Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 and a laptop for hardware

Fastworks is the software we use

I believe some tuners used ECUflash

Fastworks is the way to go if you want to tune, buddy. Nothing easy is worthwhile to be honest.

Honestly i didnt mess much with my tune my car feels like a beast.

I'm just not sure of the amount of performance I'll get from the new headers and a Cai without a tune. So let's just say I get a ingen cai and those rre headers, I won't need a tune? I thought I would need more fuel if I'm gaining more air?

Actually to make more power, the tune leans out the fuel and adds more timing, as much timing as safely possible on the octane of gas it’s for

The stock tune is way too rich for the catalytic converters

Basically Stock

The stock tune is rich because of the cats actually. Otherwise they don't function and it fails tailpipe emissions laws

Where are you from? If you're in Cali, RRE engineering is in So Cal. I would recommend anyone who has an Eclipse to go drive to their shop and have them tune it there, honestly. That's the only way you'll really know that you got a decent tune. I'm going there in a couple months or so after I get full bolt ons and tuned on E85. My buddy has a dyno as well so we'll see how much power I can make.

I live in PA, but now something interesting happned, the headers havnt arrived yet but the code turned itself off (P0431). This is the second time this has happned in the last month, both times it was about 45mins after I put in a full tank of gas. What does that even mean? I'm so confused.

You’re getting that code and have what headers on your car? Aftermarket catless? OEM with cats still inside? OEM gutted?

OEM with Cats
They’re clogged

Don’t keep running the car too long with them clogged, can cause power loss, overheating, engine damage, and they can break apart and get shot down your exhaust to clog the 3rd cat or even worse get sucked back into your engine

^ it will run like shit and eventually you won’t be able to keep the car running due to clogged pipe mine did this they had to just cut out the cat put a test pipe instead we don’t have to get them inspected it’s only for obd codes for inspection. My state is stupid you can have a straight pipe asking as you don’t throw a engine code itl pass lol
