tamarockstarboi has a spectacular aura about
How long will the Eclipse last?

I want to see who has the car with the highest miles... if i could get a general idea of how long my car will live, i wont be so depressed about the 10k i still owe on it with 81k miles on the odometer...

I'm not sure if the GT or the GS will last longer. obviously proper maintenance and not beating the s*it out of the engine/tranny also helps.

So that being said... who has the GT and GS with the highest miles???
And with the higher miles, has anybody HAD to do a engine or tranny swap because their old one failed? (not because you wanted a newer engine/tranny bc you were having problems).

Post your miles---> if KM please convert for us mathematicians

you guys should reach 200,000 miles easily (with regular valve adjustments), the older gen engines (the 6g72 24 valve SOHC 3.0 liter and the 4g64 2.4 liter or 4g63 2.0 liter) can easily hit this milage on a regular basis with proper maintance, it has been noted on the 6g72's that are maintaned regularly have been pulled apart at 120k miles for rebuilds and the bearings look brand new (source Tearstone), also these older engines don't ever need these adjustments

clutchs and transmissions on the other hand........

6G75 intake valves need to be adjusted periodically otherwise they tend to chatter. Exhaust valves have a magic auto-adjuster thing (That's the technical term) that keeps them in-spec.

I think.

correct, and the none MIVEC 6g75's, and all none MIVEC 6g7 engines have self adjusting hydralic lifters on both the intake and exhaust

That is rediculous. But i think the gt has hydraulic lifters. GS i kno if the gap is off u feel the loss of low end power

90k with my gs se, no big problems just some little ones that bug me a bit; the drive side door (MY DOOR) doesn't stay open anymore (to lazy to try and fix it) the little clicks when to turn your steering wheel and you blinkers on I can here all the time when turning, and the sub (stock sub) made a rattle, but I jutted the trunk now and that’s gone, but like I said not to bad. Ps- If anyone has had the same door problem let me know how you fixed it via PM, thanks, peace!

147,000 06 gt. I WIN!/ lose lol I've only had it for about 2 months. Had the timing belt, serpintine, and water pump changed and that's just cause I wanted to be sure it was done. A couple mechanics have looked at it and said they see nothing wrong. Need new tires near December... but that's it. Leather interior looks almost new still!

56,788 miles on my 2009 eclipse gs. The owner before me drove the f%cking shit out of it I have only put 20,000 on it out of the 56k, and take care of it like my own child
