Where are the bank 2 o2 sensors? Code P0431

I have code P0431, and yes i know it means a bad bank 2 cat. But ive noticed no power decreases and nothing so its most likely about 1% under effiencey or something ridiculous, and im not going to get it replaced to have it replaced again in a year, so basically i was wondering if anyone has any pictures on where the bank 2 o2 sensors are so i can try the o2 spacer trick/and to test it to make sure its operating properly.

Pretty sure that's the lower sensor on the front manifold.

Stand directly in front of your mitsubishi hood emblem. Now lay down on your stomach. Boom. Lower o2 sensors. Im putting my spacers on today or tomorrow. Been getting the crappiest gas mileage ever since I was lazy and didnt do it when I gutted my manifold.

It does that because of different air to fuel mixtures. Mine goes off and on too. If I rip the shit outta the car I can make it go off within a few minutes.

Usually you can replace the rear O2 sensor. If it still trips then get Mitsu to warrantee your cat if you're under 100,000mi. The inspector shouldn't pass an extender if they do the visual properly. Here they sometimes go hardcore on modded cars towing them if the cat has been hollowed.

Many times you save money in fuel economy by fixing a bad O2 sensor. Either pay the bucks to replace it now or pay an extra $5 every time you fill up the car . You quickly arrive at the same dollar cost.

that is the best info u will get in this post. u think you are saving money by avoiding a new o2 sensor but the reality of it is that more than likely your car is consuming slightly more fuel and the price u pay in gas (although u may not nitice the difference) will just keep adding up.

Sorry to resurrect this but this has been quoted multiple times over the years and I don't think it is correct. See the factory service manual here. It says bank 2, left (front).

If someone has anymore guidance than please let me know. There have been many posts about oxygen sensors and, best I can tell, no one has answered in a simple, straightforward manner (labelled pictures?)

Question Questions about error code P0431

I've been dealing with the same "bank 2" catalytic efficiency error that triggers my engine light every week or two. I decided to finally look into it on this forum and noticed you guys talked about lowered gas efficiency... This leads me to 3 questions:

-Why would this error code result in lowered gas efficiency?
-I'm going to be putting in an RRE header soon. Will the new header (along with spacers) reduce or stop this error code?
-Is it worth it to install new O2 sensors when I install my header?

pcfreak4 has a spectacular aura about
Because it’s restricting exhaust flow

It will cause both catalytic converter codes to pop, P0421 and P0431, because you’ll be missing cats; to fix this you’ll need a tune like Hackish’s which disables cat codes or O2 sensor spacers (stacked “spark plug defoulers,” one drilled 1/2 inch on the O2 sensor, and another screwed into that for each O2 sensor, screw the whole thing into the exhaust then)

I would, get the part number off Rockauto for the ones you need, ones in the manifold are your upstream/sensor 1’s

Then take the part number onto Amazon and buy the Denso part way cheaper than anywhere else, and only get the Denso’s
