Please excuse my newbieness, but are there any problems just running the colder plugs if you're not going boost or nitrous? Does it do anything if you do?

I am not so wise on all that are plugs lmao. But you can run it. I "think" they would be better since our car runs rich, it would take more advantage of that? You can look around pretty sure GT people have gone over this already haha.

I don't think it will be necessary at all. What the colder plugs have is more ceramic to absorb heat more quickly so that when you have more to compress and temperatures are higher the plug doesn't ignite the mixture before the actual spark. So if you aren't running any boost applications the colder plug won't adversely affect your performance but it shouldn't help you in anyway because you aren't igniting your mixture due to high temps.

you can foul the plugs quicker though running colder plugs without boost or nitrous.

^Yeah that makes sense. I didn't think about that. If your temperatures on the plug aren't high enough they are going to start fouling and scaling.

But what if you dont use your nitrous that much? Other f/i is different. Its there almost all the time. You can go weeks without using n2o. Whats the point in colder plugs if they are only for a every soo often situation

More to reduce detention, for every 100hp I believe they say you should go a step colder. Haven't done a lot of research into it, but when was running nitrous on my gs just wanted to be safe.

sorry friend detention or detonation im guess you ment the second one. hmm interesting I thought compression and quality of fuel had to do with that and maybe fucked spark plug. I always figured so that it wouldn't melt?? like im a diesel tech so I really don't know much about plugs unless they are glow lol

Like how does the spark plug work? I thought it would be from the msg of the ECU. like it would go off at the certain angle of the crank rotation around Top Dead Center on the firing cylinder in a firing order, to get that max torque from the throw on the crank

NGK Laser Iridium 3656 LZFR6AI is OEM not Iridium IX, Iridium IX is a little bit lower end, also, don’t run colder plugs unless you have a reason to, like boost

I’d recommend sticking to the 3656 LZFR6AI

That’s what the OEM plug is
Laser Iridium is longer lasting than the Iridium IX
If u want a step colder id get the step colder of the laser iridium
