Small update from earlier this week. Basically prepping for engine removal, which should be next weekend or the one after. I've just about disconnected everything that attaches the motor to the chassis. Only thing still attached are accessories that have fluid in them, power steering, AC, radiator... those things will be removed at the garage along with the exhaust. Once those things are out of the way, motor will be removed by dropping down from the engine bay - appears that its going to be quite easy to do with a lift, then new one pulled back up.

Here are a few pics to show what I've been looking at.

Dang man, this is looking really good. I just finished the exterior of my car, and was getting ready to start looking into boosting my 06 GS but now I'm really considering doing the swap. A lot more power for about the same amount of money as what I was going to put into it. Definitely going to keep a close eye on this thread. Good luck man!

Clutch cables ordered today, just put me over the $3000 mark for the cost of the swap. I still need to edit the OP for the parts I've sold to fund this project.

Also, Ripp headers removed, will be listed on my FS thread soon!

This is what it looked like after today... basically removed AC, starter, unhooked PS lines, and roll stopper mounts. Tomorrow CV axles come out, and pulling starts.

It's out!!! Going to spend all this week cleaning and prepping the engine bay. I broke the rear roller mount on removal, so I'm set back a little bit while I wait on a new one to arrive. Took the GS motor out as one piece, the GT motor will go in broken into two pieces. Got to remove the power steering pump from the GS and see if it will mate with the GT motor, I'm thinking it will.

Here are some pics to sum it up quickly...

HERRA WHEEL GAP with no engine installed lol.

Now that's SUV mode!!

Have you thought about suspension yet? That boat anchor sized V6 is gonna squish those GS shocks/springs.

Funny thing is, its about the same size wheel gap with stock springs

I'm prolly just going to get the KYB struts, I was thinking tien coilovers, but its already so late into the summer, that I'll prolly just get them over the winter and sell the KYB/Eibach as a combo next spring.

Set about installing the new clutch shifter assembly, and cables... its was a huge PITA to say the least. Had to tear apart the entire dash, and remove the steering wheel just to get to two bolts holding the cables to the firewall, the heater core is directly in the way, and only way to get to those bolts was to lift up the heater core.... On a happy note, I did uncover a buried treasure hidden under the dash ( see last pic)

There's 4g69's running mid 12's in that same Mirage Chassis too.... a few on youtube that I've seen before. I'll have to search youtube for some 6g75 mirage action...

Here's some pics from reassembly of the dash and shifter assembly

Went to install the flywheel and clutch... but of course I ordered the wrong bolts... ugh... another week wasted while I exchange these for the correct bolts... FML

The AC compressor is the same between the GS/GT, and will mount to either bracket for the GS/GT with no problems. It appears it will connect to the lines with no modification at all. No changes to the wiring harness had to be done either.
