I didnt think the harness would need much changing. I figured just plugging in things that are not plugged in on the GS

Update via pictures

Flywheel

Clutch disk and pressure plate

PROBLEM! subtle difference in spacer plate between automatic and manual (my motor was originally auto)

No problem!

Problem

Carbide bits to the rescue, made quick work of it

Tranny side installed, starter installed

Water pump, timing belts, tensioner and pulleys will be here Monday, then motor goes into the car. KYB struts will be here Wednesday. Then probably a slew of small expensive parts will come up... can't wait to drive it!

Then next year, when I have to pull the motor again, I'll know exactly what to do when I start doing some real building. I think there's room on this forum for another 4.0 litre eclipse! Maybe 4.1 just to one up you!

Some teaser pics to share, I still need to re-assemble as I ran out of daylight and I didn't want to do the timing belt install with the limited light I have in my garage.

First challenge was to remove the crank pulley

Basically how I got it off

Engine mount needs to be removed also

Belt removed

Timing marks on new belt

Water pump removed

Box of goodies

SPD_FRK has a spectacular aura about
"Should have just bought a GT"
^This is what people who want everything to be easy and "done" for them say.

You have done an excellent job on this conversion and have proven new ground for things to be done while others simply sit back and talk the talk. We have a client in New York who swapped his 4g64 Galant to the 6g75 last year and that also rocked a few heads.

+rep for you

Passenger mount arrived Tuesday night, then was installed Wednesday night. The motor is now 100% mounted into the bay and ready for all surrounding parts to be installed.

From curiosity, I dropped in some oil, connected the wire harness and ECU just to see what would happen, unfortunately the motor remained lifeless... which I had anticipated trying to pair an automatic wire harness with a manual setup. Everything else around the motor seemed to be functioning as should, so hopefully I can just drop in the harness and turn the key for ignition.

Fickin mount was $177!!!

I need the brackets that hold the shift cables... they are on "international back order" and will have to be shipped from Japan. Should have them within ... cough, cough.... ten weeks.

6g75 sitting on GS oem struts with eibach springs. KYB struts will soon replace the oem struts.

Things should get easier from here, the two most expensive parts I still need to order are the wire harness and rear exhaust manifold. Then most parts will be for maintenance only. I'll have to update the OP with that info.... off the top of my head here's what else I have left.

2x Idler pulleys
2x Accessory belts
Ball joints
Wheel hubs (I damaged them trying to remove stuck cv axles)
Thermostat
Heater core lines
CV axle seals

So close I can taste it!

I'd like to know the total damage when it was all said and done. I'd kinda like to do the exact opposite. 4 cylinder onto a gt 6 speed manual.
