Nope, wouldn't suggest it either. It's a totally open deck block, and flows way worse.

On 14psi my GS pulls hard on my friend's RS at 23psi. It's also cheaper to build a 4G69, and can go farther than an EcoBoost if you wanted big power.

Just another reason this car is surprisingly underrated. I have buddies that are 4g63t fan boys and they constantly urge me to swap the engine because they are part of the crowd that just disses on this car for no rhyme or reason. I get misinformed by them and I really need to stop listening haha. You guys are always so much help. I can't say that enough.

The Mitsu 4G6* series engines are badass all the way around

Yeah. 4G64 block and 4G69 head is probably my favourite combo. 100mm crank (69 or custom), 156mm rods, lightest head rotating assembly, long stroke for high revving safety, highest flowing head...

Downside is it's a great race motor combo, but any high power 4G69 head WILL be worse on the streets than a high power 4G63 head. DOHC has the advantage of having two different intake AND exhaust port setups for VVT. Our SOHC does not, so will have to have either a high RPM or low RPM bias when you get into high power. That said, I wouldn't use a 4 cylinder engine as the start of any high power friendly street build. That's V8 territory all day long.
