Douch in BRZ

So, I’ve raced a bunch of cars before and never posted a story here, but I thought this one which happened last night was worth posting...
So, I’m just driving home from work, minding my business, when I get to a light, and some guy in a Subaru BRZ with a bunch of decals pulls up to me and keeps looking at me. (I already knew what he was thinking). So the light turns green, and he starts revving and revving and we get to another light. I just look at him and kinda chuckle because I was like 200% sure he had no chance (I’m full bolt-on GT). So we decided to run a 20, while we’re getting lined up, there’s these guys in a Honda Civic hyping everything up and recording lol, so we get to 20 and take off, instantly put like 3 cars on him... Civic guys were giving me thumbs up and getting hyped, but buddy still wasn’t having it, we do a 40, this time put about a car and half, (kinda shifted slow from 3 to 4). We get to another light, I’m in the middle lane, Civic fanboys to the left of me, BRZ to the right. BRZ dude goes in Spanish “how many cylinders is that eclipse” to which I reply “6”. He then goes “mine is only 4 bro” as if making an excuse as to why he loss. He then proceeded to rev some more, and of course I returned the favor, except my car sounded a lot cooler as it popped and such and the civic boys kept hyping up my car and saying it sounded so nice as they kept recording lol. So those races are probably somewhere on social media, feels good to rep the 4G since I know a lot of people underestimate it

I seriously considered a BRZ to replace my '06 GT, but it's way too little for way too much. You can throw 5 grand on top of a brand-new BRZ & still get smoked by a mildly-tuned GT. I decided to keep my Eclipse for a few more years because it's still a lot of fun, & the money I save on buying a new car can go towards traveling & savings.

I figured it would be pretty close. Both should be good for mid high 14s

I agree 100%. If the BRZ/FRS came boosted from factory, that’s sometbing I’d be all over

I raced a Toyota 86 (identical to the BRZ) who looked like he poured a ton of money into the car (coil overs, aftermarket rims, exhaust, etc). He pulled away faster (much less mass, RWD ve FWD), but at about 40MPH I had caught up to him, and walked him the rest of the way. Same thing racing a new Civic Si (looked stock) the other day, they started out ahead but once I hit MIVEC at 4000 RPM, I passed them with relative ease.

Yeah, our cars really shine above 40 mph, specifically in 3rd gear, just doesn’t stop pulling!
