Attempt

Have everything taken apart and gutted, will be putting everything back together morning complete with two 90 degree long spacers. Things cost about 17$ each so I'm hoping for no codes and little to no problems with them. Wish me luck, I will post tomorrow on how it all worked out complete with some pictures.

Thinking I'm going to gut my headers this weekend.. Only thing I fear is not passing inspection. I'd rather not have to search for someone to pay off heh..

I just spent an hour or so reading all 19 pages of this thread. It was a good read then it pretty much died off with lots of codes being thrown.
Any updates from people who have done the mod from a year or 2 ago?

Emission inspection!

Ok guys I've read every post in this forum and no one has posted an update on whether or not they have passed emissions with this mod. Ive read about possibly failing the sniffer test but I need to know has anyone had any luck passing emissions with this mod or knows a shop in the Atlanta area that will pass me for a few extra bucks. I haven't gutted my gt cats yet but was planning to do it if I don't hear back from RRE by the end of the month.

You have two option.. You can turn the codes off with a tune or you can buy spark plug defoulers and drill them out a little bit and that will take care of the codes

I did it and originally ran without spacers, got P0421/P0431 bad Cat codes; then I used doubled up spacers (spark plug defaulters, one drilled out on inside a regular one on each side, 4 total) on each bottom O2 sensor and it worked mostly fine but I think the holes were still a little too small as sometimes I would get Lean codes P0171 and P0173 I believe they were

Then I ended up just getting a Hackish tune, setting Cat efficiency to 100% in the tune, and removing the O2 spacers

Gutted the exhaust manifold last Saturday so far so good no codes. I did what the one guy did was stuffed the fiberglass into the non foulers. Kept pushing it in with my socket extension until half full. Got a hold of hackish to do my tune next hopefully before the end of the week. Thanks for the tutorial.
