2006 GS Manual Transmission Noise

Trying to determine source of transmission noise; See below or this thread

Make a difference as to whether I keep and repair or let the car go ! Any input appreciated !!!

Makes a bearing noise when clutch pedal is up (engaged) goes away when I push down on the pedal (and in Neutral & start the car, before I shift gears. Been told might be "input bearing".

>>>That'll be the clutch release bearing

>>Umm are you sure ? Noise is when pedal is up, and in neutral ( engaged like the drive train and trans are married). When I depress the pedal it goes away. Everything I know and read says it's the "transmission input" bearing.

Means opening the transmission. Not just s new throw-out (pilot) bearing.
