Did a quick search on Evom and read that the fronts work but not the rears, cuz the ebrake is different. I would do a lil more research to make sure the fronts actually do work. I only did a quick scan.

Great thread!

So to sum it up....

Brakes that fit

1. Evo 8 F & R
1.1 Wheel Mods needed:
An 18" wheel 114.3, with a +35 Offset
OR
A spacer that does a full Hub replacement. Confirmed Sizes: 25MM, ?
1.2 Additional Mods Needed:
- Brake lines?
__________________________________________________ ______________

2. Evo 9 F & R
2.1 Wheel Mods Needed:
- An 18" wheel 114.3, with a +35 Offset
OR
A spacer that does a full Hub replacement. Confirmed Sizes: 25MM, ?
2.2 Additional Mods Needed:
- Brake lines?
__________________________________________________ ______________

Brakes that DON'T fit

1. Evo X Brakes
Reason: Handbrake mounted Differently?

You can use stock brake lines if you want to, but the Goodridge eclipse SS lines work perfectly as well.

The spacer isn't a hub replacement, it just goes over the stock hub and "spaces" your stock/aftermarket rim to allow enough room to fit the BBK.

I will post pictures of my BBK later.

So 18x8 (stock size) will fit as long as the wheel had a offset of 35 or greater? So 18x8 and a 40 offset will work?

38 or smaller yes. The higher you go the more in towards the caliper you go. But it also depends on the spokes or design of the rims. Just because it says it has a +38mm offset doesn't always mean it will work.

No because the front calipers have a bigger distance between the mounting points than the rears. It wouldn't bolt up.

I have $1100 new tire and I'd like to keep those with new rims to fit 6 piston brembo GT.

what are the size and specs of the rims Tom? What tires did you get? I got some really sweet tires as well when i did my BBK upgrade.
You can run a 6 piston brembo setup as long as it was made for the evo 8/9. I'm running the 4 piston brembo setup and man what difference.

Looking at falken Rt-7m 18x8 but the offset is 40 so no good...
Find Falken Wheels RT-7M custom wheels by size

They have 18x9 in a 35 offset but I can't use my tires. They are michline pilot

If I use spacers I'll just stick to my stock wheels, I'm going for the sleeper look.

I would like to get a larger brake kit installed, but I drive it in the winter also. How bad would it be on the brakes? Is it even worth it?

^ beautiful setup, now lower her!

What size rotors are all you guys using? Can you guys repost a single pic straight on showing the clearance and what size rotors you have? And wheel size

And doesn't anyone know if the stock front rotor will fit in the rear?

Thanks

The size rotors I am using and I am sure most people are using are just the OEM Evo Rotor size. I am running 18" rims however you can go as low as 17".

I also have +30 offset in the front and +33 offset in the rear and I am really close with my spokes. It all depends on the rim. For instance most evo oem rims are +37 or +38 i believe and they fit fine obviously because they are from the factory.

And no the front will not fit the rear because it doesnt cut out enough room for the rear emergency brake pads. Thats why the lip on the rear is so large around the lugs.

How hard was fitment?
it was really hard )) brake disk hats front and rear are custom made on a C&C machine. Caliper adapters are custom made too. to get a gt-r calipers you definitely need a dead one GT-R )).

I need some information. My 2007 3.8 spyder convertible has a warped rotor. Can I just replace it with stock parts or should I upgrade (Pads and rotors)). I don't race the car. Wife drives it to work. Might do some motorcycle rallys next summer. Thanks Brad [email protected] 608-445-1993
