  1. 2006-2012 Eclipse (General 4G)
Just wondering if anyone has disabled their ABS. Apparently I'm having a stuck valve so I took it off and now the brakes are actually working great again LOL. Will have to drive like this temporarily. Curious if anyone has actually drive without it. Luckily I don't have ice or snow where I'm from.

Guys, anyone ever remove the carpet on their Eclipse? Underneath they have these grey streaks on the chassis that are pretty hard to remove. Has anyone ever attempted to take these off? Is this some sort of sound deadening material? If so, will dry ice remove it? Thanks.

Trying to remove wheel hub and bearing to replace got all bolts out but hub is basically stuck I’ve tried penetrating oil and hammering to no luck what can I do to remove this without getting a shop to do it? Should I just keep hammering it it hasn’t even broke a crack in between the two pieces...
  4. Tuning and Electronics
Who's still tuning for these cars? I have a Hackish/Fastworks tune from back in like 2013, however it never satisfactorily dealt with my RRE headers throwing codes for the downstream O2 sensors. I'd be more than willing to pay a tuner who can remove the P0157 and P0137 downstream O2 sensor codes...
  5. 2006-2012 Eclipse (General 4G)
Hey guys quick question, for the 3.8 is it necessary to remove the splash guards under the car and the front bumper to fully remove the radiator, or can I just simply remove and replace from the top?
  6. Driveline
In the exploratory phase of auto to manual swap and have a few questions. The shop that's been doing my suspension has done this swap before (4G MT swapped to Galant) and is onboard to help with the install. I've following salvage titles on erepairables.com and someday will find a donor car...

  9. Problem Reports
Hello all, I have a 2007 GT Coupe. I am trying to get a few things fixed on it to make it look and feel better, and I've run into a snag. I know this will sound crazy, but I am trying to remove the climate control unit to open it up and put in a new Max A/C Recirculate button. The old one has...
  10. Problem Reports
As I am searching through the car I am finding out that the previous person that owned the car either did some work on the car or a mechanic forgot to put screws back in certain places. I've been on e-bay trying to use their diagram to find the specific screws I am missing but have had no luck...
  11. 2006-2012 Eclipse (General 4G)
So I live in Oregon and like to visit the coast a lot and camp, but as probably every one knows it rains a bit here so I really don't like pitching a tent. Heres what I would like to do, since the back of the eclipse has a TON of room when the seats are down I was thinking of converting it into...
  12. Problem Reports
Hello everyone, I own a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT and I've had the dreaded O2 sensor codes for as long as I can remember. Just the past weekend, I decided to gut out my pre-cats and install O2 spacers for the oxygen sensors (All 4). I was hoping that the codes would finally disappear but sadly...
  13. 2006-2012 Eclipse (General 4G)
Tried to replace starter this weekend on my 2010 GS 85k miles. When attempting to remove the O2 sensors from the exhaust manifold to get the heat shield off, only one sensor would come out. On the stuck one, i ended up using almost an entire can of PB blaster, a torch, some big leverage bars...

  15. Problem Reports
Hey guys, I'm trying to install a strut brace however for some reason it seems like there's bolts that are doing nothing in the way of the boot for the brace. I'm new to this, so it may be something obvious I'm unaware of. But does anybody know what these bolts are/if I can remove them...
  16. Do It Yourself Guides (Howto)
I'm about to pull the manual transmission out of the car to replace the input shaft bearing. I wasn't sure if I could do it on jack stands or if I needed to invest in some sort of lift. So basically, how high does the car have to be to remove the transmission?
  17. 2006-2012 Eclipse (General 4G)
Hey guys, I'm replacing my front downstream O2 sensor today, but the clearance I get on the front for the O2 sensor socket is much different from the rear O2 due to the heatshield? Not sure if the heatshield extends all the way to the bottom. I heard people actually using ratchet wrenches to...
  18. Problem Reports
Hey guys I'm trying to track down a thread or set of instructions that go over how to remove the reverse lockout. Originally, I remembered seeing these instructions for the TWM short throw for the 6-speed but it appears they've discontinued that product and the links to the original...
  19. Do It Yourself Guides (Howto)
My car is currently lowered on springs. I was going to put the stock springs back on. The sway bar link attached to the strut is held on by a bolt with an allen key inside. I was trying to remove it by holding an allen key inside while undoing the outside bolt with a wrench and pipe. I loosened...
  20. Maintenance
Didn't see a step by step so I thought I'd help out. I did not disconnect exhaust. But you may have to depending on your setup. Step 1 is get a jack with a piece of wood on it and support the transmission. Step 2 is remove the rear two bolts on the centermember. Step 3 is remove the...
