Hi all.

I have been trying to fix my 2008 Eclipse GS for about two months now. The car was throwing a code for every single O2 sensor, including the heater circuit. It was straight piped, which I assumed was the source of the problem, so I threw a Walker cat in there, along with some Bosch O2 sensors. Codes still came up. Mechanic suggested I go with OEM sensors, the Densos, so I did, and the car is still throwing a check engine. I will be going to AutoZone to get the codes checked, but I am assuming it is the same O2 sensor codes that have been popping up before. My last thought is that it could be an electrical or ECM issue. Any ideas?

Thanks.

It’s possible oil may have spilled onto the O2 sensor directly below the oil fill. Oil and debris could cause a higher resistance which could be setting off a code. Try buying a new connector with wire, cutting the old one off and crimping the new one on. It’s just a thought. You could also compare what the resistance is with what it’s supposed to be in the workshop manual. Mine is throwing the same codes too (I believe it’s p0057? And another one) and imma be trying everything I just told you in the next week or so. (Also someone correct me if I’m wrong about my reasoning. I’m still a bit new to the whole electrical portion of cars :/)
