I just got this 2006 eclipse with 155,000 miles it's a GT V6 five-speed I've had nothing but problems ever since I got it with my luck took it to the mechanic before I purchase that and he said everything was OK even though the check engine light test and everything was good
One day I'm driving on the highway and all the sudden I went to downshift and I lost the ability to switch gears it would not let me change years as much as I hold on the clutch it wouldn't let me change gears it stayed in a neutral and what I had to do yes I am new to stick shift and I don't think I'd beat the clutch up that much within four days of driving it I didn't even drive 100 miles and those four days I was going about 60 mph and after the car was put in neutral and I coasted and just shut off by itself
Prior to this I didn't know any better but after looking at different videos the car had to be clutch slipping what it happened was every time I've been on the highway and I'd want to gun it it would be at 3000 RPMs and shoot straight up to like five or sixK RPMs and then accelerated slowly the RPMs would than go back down to 3000 RPMs and then slowly rise back up like it should normally I thought it was normal wasn't thinking about it
The clutch is pretty spongy right now and it lets me start the car I ordered a new clutch kit thinking that that was the problem and is coming on Saturday but I have a feeling that it isn't the problem and that something else is the problem there is no leaks in the master cylinder or brake reservoir and the brake reservoir stays ffull
Clutch itself have a lot of sponginess to it I can trying to just throw it around but it doesn't stick to the floor comes back up and still has a bit of tension but not as much as it used to i'm haven't been able to take it to a mechanic yet been waiting for the clutch to come in so he can just get it installed but I had a guy who knew something about cars come look at it and he thinks that's on them to do with the hydraulic system because he was able to take the car for a spin. It was just very jerky
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this any help would be appreciated I did try looking at the manual and it's very complicated but I'm just hoping to get it fixed this weekend so I can drive it nothing sucks more than buying a caryour first car and not being able to drive it 3 days later
Ps Master cylinder is leaking no leaks is what I found so far I did not try deleting the clutch as I did not know how to do that if someone has any help for that as well that would be great I went and bought a self brake bleeder just didn't know where to connect it or how to use it
