yeah take some pics and step-by-step, i have to remove my back bumper too, i kinda broke some clips cause a few months ago my rear got caught on a piece of metal sticking up from one of those parking stops (those cement things) and when i pulled away, my right side rear bumper got pulled off, so i just snapped it back to place, it looks fine now but only i know its not properly secured and it breaks my heart...:(

guys... I have more pics than i know what to do with.. I have done a step by step of how to remove the rear tail lights... a how to remove the bumper... and even a simple way to disassemble your gas tank cover... I am gonna do photoshop this week and post pics by friday... the bumper was extremely easy to take off.. it was just figuring it out was the hard part... just keep looking for the pics when they pop up...

ohhh lets start with a small warm up...

Gas Cap Cover:

Open the cap remove the three bolts that are around the mouth of the gas tank... remove the bracket and then lift the cap out of the car... the over will seperate from the black plastic overflow by taking the allen bolts and taking off the nuts...

next lest try the tail lights... they are actually easier than the headlights... so don't be scared...

First pop the plastic tabs within the truck on either side... after doing so will show a cluster of wires with a water tight grommet... directly above the wire cluster is a single stud that has a 10mm nut on it... there is a bracket that runs below the light it helps hold the bumper... you will not have to take if off if you are not planning on taking off the bumper but there is on bolt by the trunck lid that needs to be removed b4 removing... once it is removed just simply unsnap the lights from the car... it's easy!!!

ok now for the rear bumper... it only had one trick spot and thats only because i didn't know how it was held...

First remove both rear finder wells (Shown below and marked fastners)... than proceed to unclip the fastners below the bottom of the bumper shown below... after that pop the truck... unclip the water catch... and then that will expose more clips below (shown in the picture as well)... at this time refer back to the taillight removal process... after the taillights are removed unclip the fastners that were hidden underneath the lights... then unscrew the liecence plate light... THIS IS HELD BY TORQUE SCREWS!... after doing so simply grab the corner of each bumper and pull outwards and each side will unclip... they are held with about 4 clips on each side (are very easy to unclip... if it seems to be hard to remove just look around for a retaining clip missed)... once removed just unclip each red reflector and push outward... thatsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss IT!!!! i hope this helped... I love how easy things are to remove and assemble on this vehicle...

quick question for you, on the passenger side rear wheel well the plastic piece that is behind the wheel is it one big piece that is the wheel well or are there two pieces? i broke out that piece and want to replace it. but if it is the whole wheel well i am going to leave it.

yep the 3rd shot is that... the smaller of the 2... :D its just one piece... i would get it though due to the amount of wind that the bumper would catch might not be the best thing for the plastic clips holding it (or even the flex to the paint :dunno:)... i hope i helped :D

I was a DCC, best eleven-years of my life working on F111-F's, D's, and many friends on the EF's, along with many rotations to Dhahran and Incirlik.

Gas cap area might give you easier access to some of the bolts.
