I had my oil light come on apparently my car was leaking oil, took it to mits they tried telling me it wasnt a sensor it was either basically a blown engine or a lower engine issue. Which when i asked them what the problem was they should have stated oil around that sensor. Specially since the changed the oil. My uncle bought a $8 sensor and noticed oil was leaking around that, fixed problem. My concern is why would mits not take the proper time to find this issue, when it literally took my uncle 10 min to find the problem and fix it after we had the part the next day, im skeptical of anything they tell me at this point. Which is why for the past yr all i let them do is my oil. Which for $30 isnt that bad as I dont have a lift at home. But just thought id make a post about what I recently went through. They dont even check the engine codes and give me it when I ask I repeatedly asked them to put it on the paper and got my papers with reciept and what ya know no codes listed even though my ses light is on. Wont be trusting them with even a grain of salt at this point its just a scam they know Id fix the code and theyd rather me let them fix it for $300+ than me fix it for $80 which is what my lower cat sensor cost through my uncles shop. Which I feel they did wrong by not atleast letting me know what was leaking oil. The code shit I can figure out on my own was just asking in convenience of getting oil changed at the same time. Its not good service on their part I understand money is their motive but when someone ask what the problem is they should be able to give an answer being a certified service/dealership
Yeah I took my car in because when I would hit the brakes hard my front tires would slide so I changed the brakes. The problem still remained so i took it to the dealer told them the problem. They call me back 2 hours later to come pick my car up and I was pissed when they told me all they did was change the brake fluid. So I just left my car there untill they found the problem. They called back the next day telling me they took all my tires off and inspected the ABS units. And everything was fine.. and I still have the problem. I just keep a distance from the car in front of me
I had that problem everytime mits did my brakes, after the brake recall for 07s came in the mail it solved my problem faulty abs unit. But without recall idk if thats the same issue exactly. But mits just doesnt care about these cars i feel like even though some of us bought them from them directly they basically throw us under the table as it seems
I have a 08. And since I just changed the brakes the pedal is kinda hard. In my work truck if I hit the brakes hard I feel the brake peddle move up and down now that's ABS.... mine will just slide
Oh the best part.. they tried to make it look like I was the problem. Like i was hitting the brakes to hard making it slide. Like I don't know how to use brakes.. thats when I started giving the guy attitude and left my car there. So dont know of I told this story on the site before so.. I was turning into my complex now the complex has 3 lanes a enter lane left turn lane and right turn lane. It was a rainy day going normal speed. Hit the brakes and somehow i ended up on the other side of the drive way almost hitting the curb. I got so lucky there was not a car there. And theres always car going in and out. I legit dodged a bullet. I was so pissed after. So i took my car to the dealership the next day.
I bricked my ECU early on with the car and towed it to the dealer. They held it for a day, charged me $120, and said my ECU was fried needing a new one for $1200, installed and flashed ($900 ECU, $300 to install and flash the stock tune (what the fuck!)). The ECU is something like 4 plugs, and it takes a minute to reflash.
Sent it to Tactrix and they reflashed it for free. Shoulda just like Michael from Fastworks do it with a tune, but didn't.
What Im gonna say is not how it is but if you take your car for regular services in general they should give a reasonable price for simple tasks instead they use your trust against you thinking you dont know better when they throw a 1,000 price on crap. It is called valuing the customer, and 1200 for something that wont cost a hr hardly is bs only things i see are worth a hr is a engine rebuild or a transmission replaced even then most shops can have a trans and changed within a couple hrs so at 90 a hr thats lile $500 -800 for trans 200 for labor. They really have lost my respect, i had brake problems everytime i took my car there to get them replaced my uncle replaced my brakes i didnt have half the problems with them then after the recall my brakes are a whole new life stops like it should. Basically moral is were all better either having the know how or knowing someone who does and never take a dealer word over all. There gial is sell, our goals are different we all want to save as much as possible and since they arent really there to help just makes sense why mits falls short on sales in the first place. Hell leaking oil not knowing where I coulda blown my engine and for a 8$ Switch was all it was and they couldnt see that pretty mind blown a mechanic misses simple ass stuff. Even if i sell my car with its problems its had, il always check in on this forum though, least I still have a rant support system and what not lol
