I don't know of any track that wouldn't let him come play. Are you speaking from experience, or stories and guesses?
Full size pickup trucks come out on open lapping days even. And drag strip, I've seen a little of everything from open wheelers to monster trucks on street legal nights. Even the occasional ATV and snowmobile comes out
Famous road course I live near here in Ohio strictly bans any truck or SUV for track use, and convertibles must have approved welded in rollbar or proper hard tip conversion piece attached
In my area, I know of 4 that do. Convertibles can also come to play, but no slicks without a roll cage is a common one, and on drag strips, a roll bar requirement comes in at 13.49 seconds for convertibles, and 11.49 for T tops instead of 10.99 which hard tops have.
Considering that Miata are one of the most common track cars there are, there must be a lot of cage builders in your area if they want to play, lol.

If your serious about racing you have a cage. If it’s a daily driver and not tracked hard then cage would be iffy but any competition level I’d assume cage is required to be on the track, anything under 80-90 mph I don’t think it matters suv or not if it’s lowered to low center of gravity for road racing there’s classes for that forsure.but my mind I require a cage for myself if I’m racing increase them crunch zones to give you some breathing room invade of flipping or who knows, I’m not serious about racing but in my v8 car that I plan to take to a track one day I will build a cage for that I’ve seen what happens to a body of a car in high speeds and I’m trying to live. I’d rather have bumps and bruises and maybe broken bomes than crunched in a car.

If it’s a daily driver taken to the track to run in an open street test and tune type event with their street cars with more strict passing requirements then you won’t want a cage for a street car
Tracks have runoff zones and shock barriers.
Streets don't, your runoff is your crumple zone.
Roll bars are the nice compromise in my head. They prevent you being crushed should a pillar be too weak, and don't affect crumple zones for street use. They also allow for harnesses still, which at the track are nice. Not so much on streets, but you can keep OEM for the streets with airbags, and harnesses+helmet+HANS+gloves+everything for the track of you're serious about it.
What’s eclipses look like afterheavy front impact and roll over, my other car is all fiberglass body so I’d imagine it not being the safest rolling over or hard impact a cage would be the only safe protection it’s also a car 40 years old too though where as the eclipse had to pass some sort of crash test for today’s standards

Today’s cars are safer than a car 40 years ago
Not only because of seatbelts (comparing to really old cars) and airbags, but more safety features like ABS, Traction Control, and the new lane departure assists and adaptive cruise control etc
But not to mention that, some fail to realize what’s important in a crash and how to compare the way a car looks after a crash, an old car will look less damaged, but that impact went to the passengers; whereas a modern car will crumple up in crumple zones, but protects what is really important, the passengers
The roof holds up quite well, I remember one member who posted in the graveyard here after he went off a bridge and landed on the roof. The fact he was able to post about it should be all the info needed, but, the pillars didn't collapse.
In a front impact, the crash bar snaps and starts a crumple across the front of the frame, stopping at the firewall. Rear, they tend to buckle inwards and use the trunk to slow the impact. Sides, the frame splits just behind the fender, and the foot well areas get pushed inwards while the doors mostly stay in shape due to the crash bars and plate inside.
If you’re looking to delete anything for a track car (which no track will let you bring an SUV like the Endeavor), then you’ll be looking at removing all of the Air Conditioning components and getting a serpentine belt that works with the AC delete
Full list
Ac delete
Egr delete
Power steering delete
Roof rack removed
Passenger seat removed
Front and trunk carpet and random pieces
And the ac and power steering are gone gone
The power steering made a huge difference, i was very hesitant to do it but i am SO GLAD that i did.
Ive beat too many things to name off now broski
Matter of fact i cant remember the last time i lost in this thing... took 2 v8 tahoes the other night and a ford raptor along with a v8 titan
Im doing anything and everything i can to this and tomorrow im going around town to spread the word to any shop i can drive to. Ask about that super charger. It needs
I removed the tensioner pulley, along with the pump and hoses coming off the rack and pinion. I then sealed those two holes after draining almost all the fluid. Power steering was only maybe 20lbs but everything together adds up close to if not over 300lbs. But the gas mileage and power increase were more substantial than i ever thought they would be. I need to actually dyno this thing so i know my numbers..but im holding out for this sc... cuz then ill have to use the dyno
And btw i got in contact with the shop someone told me about in van Nuys CA but they said they had never even heard of an sc for the 4g65.... these people playing with my heart.. 😞
Did you say 4G65 to them? Because it's a 6G75, and they stopped making them because of an idiot who installed it, then didn't use any clamps on fuel lines he ran, causing the car to burn down. The person then went after the company blaming them and wanting compensation
Let me know how that rack feels when it gets hot. I'm curious what power difference there is as well. I know on a 1970s dodge it's worth about 7hp. I also know they're more efficient now too though. Too bad there's no before and after dyno run

Woooww haha man i gotta proof read these. Yeah i told him 6g75.. i even talked about the 4th gen eclipses and the 3.8l v6 pushrod variant i have. He just seemed more confused. And i had no idea about that guy going after the company.. what a tool.. it is full swing summer time here in OK and the only issue with the no PS is parking lots. but even then its not unturnable. I would say the hp i gained was between 5-10hp cuz my ps was original, old, and wearing out. I am going to mmake it a priority to dyno this mitsubeasti and yes i meant to spell it that way. Thats her name.
Man if i cant find this sc in the next year... i might just go with a 50 shot of NOS. It is so close to the v8 range. I BARELY lost to a moded 2017ish Camaro v8 like he couldnt get past me till 75mph
Any update? Did you get the supercharger of your dreams?
I'm also thinking about doing a power steering delete. I want to research if it's safe to do and won't unnecessarily stress the steering shaft components.

I changed my mind since yesterday (only took 15 minutes of reading to see that it's a bad idea).
I am interested in reducing power assist though - I will review hydraulic steering pump technology and see if maybe there is a mod out there that can achieve this.
