Those are sexy ass headers
That they are

Nice Martino! I have an RRE plate too but they must have recently added "My race car is at" haha nice touch.
Lol, well it'll certainly be an improvement over my current "Nissan Prestige" frame

I bet the guy who helped you get those headers is a real sexy mofo ;)
Mike from RRE? Yeah, he's alright I guess lol. Thanks for the hookup

I've got an appointment with my mechanic to install the headers this coming Monday. Fingers crossed there are no nasty surprises.

This is awesome Plain Jane, great job! I had a set of Conti DW and loved them, very nice tires. Can't wait to hear how you like the RRE Headers, I wish I could do those, but living in CA those are a no-go for me.

When you're ready for coilovers, and I've plugged this many times so forgive if this is redundant, but I HIGHLY recommend contacting Welcome to Muellerized Suspension Systems. John Mueller was the original chassis/suspension guy at RRE, and did the suspension for the Ralliart Eclipse for Mitsubishi and for the RRE Eclipse Race Car. He's seriously one of the best suspension guys in the US and he's very familiar with the 4G. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WpmVk8SaEk

Basically they'll send you fill-in PDF questionnaire asking about budget, driving style, goals, mods, etc., then put together an estimate/package custom for you. They'd then ship you ready to install coilovers, completely customized and tuned for your needs.

They've been awesome to me, and my coilovers are easily the best mod I've done. Great for track day and livable as DD's. He did the install on mine (plus brakes) about 5 years ago and still going strong.

Thanks, Muellerized coils are definitely on my short list. Want to take care of a few other things before I get there though.

RRE headers are installed. First impression: it's a bit buzzy. You don't hear it as much in the car, but it's there. Between 3-4k rpm it's more noticeable (no buzz at all under 2k). Not the most irritating thing in the world though, I practically forgot about it by the time I got home. The throttle seems more sensitive and will react instantly to minor movements. I didn't change my driving style in the least bit and have peeled the tires on half throttle all around town. I didn't get a chance to flog it much as there was a lot of traffic, but I'm fairly certain it picked up a few ponies at the shop.

I smelled fuel just after starting the car up for the first time. Car runs very well with no CEL (yet).

Nice man! When you say buzzy do you mean raspy? If so, then adding a good aftermarket resonator either in between the cat and stock resonator or between the stock resonator and the muffler (which every fits better on the GT) should do the trick.
Thanks! I'll try to get you a sound clip tomorrow so you guys can hear what I mean. Keep in mind I don't have a professional camera and have zero editing skills, so don't be mad if it looks like crap lol

Nice, Im pretty jealous right now lol. Im glad you got them. I wonder why you have buzzing? Yes please do a video clip. If possible.... can you do a inside the car, outside the car with maybe a startup doing both and a drive by or two. Lol Im curious just to hear how it sounds with your exhaust setup.

I couldn't hear any buzzing.(I also have a hearing loss lol) I just heard a crap ton of awesomeness. Lol It doesn't really sound that much louder.
You commented faster than I could edit my post lol. Yeah, the buzzing/rasp is minor, and is even less noticeable when in the car. Not that much louder overall either (I didn't rev it past 5k in the other videos).

Lol I try man. Nah its just a slow day at work :p
Well after watching all three of your videos i still stand by my previous post. Nothing but awesomeness! I need to do headers now too.....
Your video is extremely helpful, I have been trying to figure out what stock exhaust sounds like with rre headers. Since im trying to keep the sound pretty close to stock. I know that mine will probably sound different since i have dual exhaust(Well... Mitsubishi's version lol) My next sound clip or video is trying to figure out what rre headers and the intake sounds like with an exhaust cutout. Which i can find on every other car but ours.

Regardless thanks for the videos, they helped out perfectly. I hope your headers work out they way you want. I think tcscoccer09 is right in the fact that maybe putting a better resonator is needed for less buzzing aka the rasp*a*nator

I agree with Ozzy, it sounds good. Not to far from stock but a slight bit louder at top end. I cant pick up any buzzing sounds, but if its there, I like it. Ill try to post a video up when ever I get mine installed. Good job Martino!

Thanks. So far, everything looks kosher, already planning on dropping a few bills on a catback so hopefully it won't stay stock for long. I should've mentioned that I have an Injen CAI hooked up already and that may have slightly affected the exhaust note.

I'd email RRE sooner rather than later. They've discontinued their headers (both 2.4 and 3.8) and may have very few left in stock. If not, you could have to wait a few months before they make them again.

Thanks Tristen. Good luck with your install. RRE recommends keeping the original exhaust manifold gaskets as they're stainless and should still be good.

Oh i knew you had a CAI, I seen it in the post :)

Unfortunately i will already have to wait this time next year or even longer
Im leaving the Military and im saving like crazy. Its actually why all my mods are on hold.

Any idea what type of catback your thinking of?

Well, I do hope they remake them and you get your hands on a set. They won't disappoint.

I'm looking hard at the Injen catback. The man at ACI says the price is supposed to jump up to $944 per unit, so now's the time to buy. Unfortunately, being Canadian, I'd take it in the teeth on shipping. They say $825 tax-in to my door. It's a lot, but at least you have the piece of mind knowing you're paying for a well developed product that will deliver.

Oh im sure i will get them when the times right :) (just kinda hard waiting)

yeah idk about trying to have them ship them. Have you thought of just going to your local exhaust shop and explaining the type of sound your looking for and seeing what they can do? Have you also thought about shipping it to a US location and just driving back? Like ship it to a US store that's closest and get it installed and then drive it back into Canada? Whatever you do im sure that it would sound awesome with your setup man.

We had some parts shipped to the border for my old man's Escape. It turned out to be more trouble than it was worth as we were on the road, waiting in lines and still paid a heavy duty when coming back into Canada. All things considered we saved a whole $20, so probably not going to go through that ordeal again.

I have thought about a custom job. What I really want more than anything is to cut out the 3rd cat completely. Stainless 3" piping, a resonator and a good muffler should be sufficient, but I've never built my own exhaust and am not 100% sure about how to go about it.

On the other hand, I got a slightly better offer on the Injen from THM. $795 shipped.
