So yesterday I was on my way to work and it was raining monkeys outside, and the streets were pretty much flooded. Well I turn on a street and hit a huge puddle of water. Five seconds later my speedo stops working and my CEL came on as well as my traction control light. After work I took it to Auto Zone to pull the codes and it says my speed sensor is malfunctioning. The guy at the auto zone said check to see if the sensor came loose or check to see if it needs to be cleaned first before getting a new one. I know the sensor is located on the tranny but I don't know the specific location of the sensor.

If its the same setup as the 4 cylinder, I believe its attached to the transmission. There is a difference between auto and manual, but it should look something like this...

Generally the best option is to ask your question outright, as then you can start getting answers

Poor guy. Bet he'll never make that mistake again though. Happy to hear he's out trying and learning.

This picture is from my GT manual. Should be the same wiring still. (back of the trans is accessible through the trunk, so it's just a lot easier to take a clear picture of). Tried my GS, couldnt fit my arm)

Yeah, yours will have a retaining clip on it.
How about this. I have to pull my GS trans anyway. I'll take a picture of it then if you still need one. Just I've got no way to access it until I remove a pile of stuff. Probably can get started in the next few days depending how busy work is.
