So I have these aftermarket lights on my car that don't draw enough power for my car to think that the brake lights are working, which means my cruise won't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can keep my pretty black housing lights and have cruise control?

You need to add a load resistor to your tail lights, then everything will work fine.

I'm not sure of the size load resistor, but that what you need. If you do a search I'm
sure it's posted some where in the forums.

Thanks for finding this How To for Jaime...

Seeings how the tail-lights and many other system fall under the CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) system, the ECU monitors the resistance within the system. So when there is a resistance change the ECU precedes a problem in the electrical system and will shut down other components within the system to prevent damage to equipment. In the case of the tail-lights, other systems that can be effected are the interior lighting, cruse control, side marker lighting, brake lights, and sometimes dash panel lighting. Any, or all of these system can be effected without a proper load on the tail-lights.
