yea i had mine on and went to the dealer and they turned it off, Its the SRS light right?

did you try unhooking the battery for a while? might give the ECU a chance to reset and clear it out

ooh i had a prob with my SRS light

i had my HID power packs too close to the senors in the front of the car and i fried the senors apparently, ( complete BS )

make sure the plugs on the bottom of the seats are all connected

 

yeah my connectors are all in... shit looks like i gotta take a trip to the stealrship..

 

I don't think they'll charge you big $ for the fix. Just tell them you disconnected one of the seats while vacuuming and forgot to plug it in until after you started it up and noticed the light.

A good dealership shouldn't charge you at all.

 

I hope its that easy, because mine has been on for like a month now. Ill head over to the dealership this weekend or early next week and let you guys know

 

oh jeez, don't ignore the airbag light. It could be life or death. Even though you didn't mess with the wheel the whole airbag system could be off right now.

 

holy crap, yeah i took care of mine the day after i saw it ( i had to work )
the light means something is dis functional with your airbags * somewhere *

meaning your airbags can deploy at random or they will not deploy when needed

id stop driving if i were you until you get that fixed

 

if you disconnect the battery and put a test light between the leads for 5 mins, it resets all the systems.

 

Could you explain this to me? I would love to get rid of my SRS and seatbelt lights

 

Meaning... discharge any leftovers from the system right?

I used to just "click" the ignition several times and that seemed to do the trick. Man, much props for finally finding out the "right" way to do it! :woot:

last time this happened to me when i went it was just a bunch of crap that was on the back floor and because there is no room back there when you moove the seat all the way back it pushed up under the seat where the sensor is. they just moved the crap and cleared it. i got it on again i trying reseting the ECU and it didnt work so maybe all the power was not drained then..?

 

Yeah I tried taking the plug out under the seat a few years ago and I took it to the dealer ...they knew what I did. Try unplugging the battery for half hour. Pull your seatbelt from behind the seat and plug it on if it's that bad.

 

Posting in a 3 1/2 year stale thread, let's see how this goes....

My airbag warning light is on. I am pretty sure it came on when I pulled the upper dash display and unplugged the Passenger seat light from each side of the display, although I'm not 100% positive that was the cause, or even if that would cause it.

What I'm reading here is that if I disconnect the battery, and put a test light between the two battery cables (wouldn't touching the leads together also do trick?) AND click the ignition (totally draining residual voltage in the electrical system) AND leave it unplugged for a half hour...then if there really is nothing wrong with the airbag system, that red SRS warning light should reset to off?

I'm not sure I have a test light handy, I may just hold the battery leads together...umm...while DISCONNECTED from the battery.

I'm going to go try it, soon about now, but I wanted to bump the thread and get some comments too. Report to follow.

 

That didn't work. Perhaps I have a loose connection under a seat.

Removed both battery posts, touched them together a few times, turned the ignition key a few times, and left the battery disconnected for several hours (I had a lot going on). Got everything put back together, performed the PCM reset.

SRS light is still on. BAH!

 

You have to splice two of the wires from the seatbelt connector together. My buddy did mine while i was trying to kill a hangover so i'm not sure which two. But i'll check after work today.

 

so it wil disengage the passenger airbag forever?

Don't want to disable anything. I'm not getting a DTC on the light, so I'm assuming it just needs to be reset and I'm doing it wrong. If I do it right, and I KNOW I'm doing it right, and it doesn't go out, then I guess I'm doing a dealer visit (blech!)

 

I have the same problem, will check for wires under the seat. 06s had TSB for airbag module also; I don't know 09 GSs...But iif there is a problem it will come up again, and the delaer asks for 95$ to check and clear it...

 

The dealer cleared mine for free. I set mine off by something getting jammed under the passenger seat. Just tell them to clear it.

Tuned, tucked, slammed and rolled.

 

Yea man, I unhooked my drivers side seat to vacuum underneath and after that the SRS light went on, so is there really no way to take it off without going to a dealer? And my other question is, if your SRS light turns on after you disconnect the seat, then how do ppl change their stock seats to different seats? Do aftermarket seats have something you can plug those plugs to for the airbags as well?

 

I can reset your ses light at the meet tonight. And when they change the seats they splice certain wires together. Im not sure which as i cant get to mine.
