I need a how-to remove the trunk lid... Need to repaint it and it would be easier if I just took it off the car.. I can take off all the bolths and disconnect the nozzle plug in the middle... but how do I take off the two rubbers on the left and right side near the top? I can wiggle them off but they are attached to more wires. I don't think my service manual has anything on taking about the body parts. I know some of you guys have probably done so to install your carbon fiber trunk lids. Anyone know how?

It's the glass that makes it heavy. The lid without the glass is not too bad.

Thanks Russ... so I've been searching for related words to 'trunk'. Apparently it's called a liftgate -_-. Sounds right for it's weight. It's in the Body section FSM 42-84. Also, my problem is I don't know how to unattach the floor wiring harness on the trunk lid... Why is there a harness on the trunk lid? The only thing up there is the rear wiper... There is no harness on mine.. it seems as though someone soldered then together.
while it off can you get the wieght of the whole piece? i'm looking into the cf trunk lid for the car. thanks in advance.
