I got pulled over racing a truck, I think we were going about 70 in a 45...11:00ish, and I see a big beam..its a cop.
I told the cop we were not racing...he goes I been a cop for 23 years, and when I was your age I had a 1969 Chevelle souped up, I know what racing is.
Long story short, he pulled us both over, called backup..4-5 cop cars...looked like a drug bust...
THE GOOD PART:...I didnt get a ticket...maybe cuz the truck driver and his passenger were drunk, and the driver got taken to jail for DUI.

Cops respected the whip I guess?

He said next time im going to jail, and car being towed.

I have a 3 lane highway along the base of the mountain....pretty remote....and is empty after about 8pm....

Until you get pulled over like tonight, and are not as lucky as you were tonight and get banged with a $500+ ticket.... :p If not more...

It's just not worth it :dunno:

but I hope you were at least beating him before you got pulled over :lmao:

I stopped all involvment with street racing years back... in VA you go to jail and your car gets impounded....1st offense.. not to mention its dangerous to you, pedestrians, other traffic...

good to hear you got out of it...lucky

If you are gonna race on anything other than a legal track, find a dead beat road where no one ever goes, out in the middle of no where...thats not so bad..

We have a track right down the road... but they charge $45 just to test and tune for a short few hours. So thats almost $100 a weekend just to drive my car for half the night. Not to mention they close down at 11:00.

We don't realy get too many options and have to after hours race in low traffic areas. But our group is pretty well self policed and we don't have alot of stupid shit go down. Plus the Cops leave us alone so long as we "Keep the Peace". We have like 45-65 cars show up every week end on average.

Just gota be smart and don't put other people in danger so you can have a little fun. Don't race in traffic or residential areas and post people to watch for on comming traffic and cops. Not only for your safty but for theres. I got family on the road just like everyone else does.

Oh and don't race drunk people. LOL

"If only I had enough money to own 1/2 mile of road somewhere outside of town."

i got out of a ticket last friday... i was on the way home from my gf's house and it's a nice road they just paved and i always speed, that's usually where i top my car out cause i'm always drivin on it at like 1 in the mornin and there's like no one on it... and this cop pulls me over, luckly i was only doing like 75ish(in a 55)... I had my lic, insurance card and registration by the time he was at my door and went to hand it to him, but he just asked if i was drinkin and told me to watch out and slow down... made my night...

Very stupid. More and more states are starting to really crack down on street racing. I am pretty sure that california is starting to sieze and destroy all illegal street racing cars at the owners expense. Not only would you get a ticket but you would also loose your car to a big ass car crushing machine.

Be smart hit up the track.

No if the police crush it, the insurance would be informed of the police report and probably be clued into what is up.

dont think so, i dont think they actually crush you car, if you still owe on it they would return it to the dealer and if you had it payed off they would sell it in a police auction. the insurance wouldnt cover that sort of thing, they would want a police report and see what done and they wouldnt cover you under that point
Yes, they actually do crush cars in CA. It doesnt matter what you owe on it, or if its a nice car. The put the car into the crusher expensive aftermarket parts and all and crush it. No if ands or buts about it. I do believe you have to be a multi offender tho. They dont do that for first timers.

The only state that even considers crushing is Cali, And that’s only in certain county’s, and on special occasions.

California sucks ass for so many different reasons. I couldn't even list them all if i wanted too.

Ya... but all the bad things out weight the good things.

And i'm still waiting for that state to fall back into the ocean anyways. It's so long over due! lol

I can see it now... Arnold's press confrence.... "We'll be back!, Thanks to people like Sky Net who have provided all the funding"!

LOL@U!

Bump an old Thread with New Shit!

Come on you can't tell me this doesn't look like the stupidest report ever. Its a waist of money to invest this much effort into finding a stolen car and 4 stolen motors. Because that’s all they got done. The people where racing on an EMPTY street not putting anyone in danger except them selves. Ya its a little worse of a scene then I’m used too but come on.... it really wasn't all that bad. I can see the cops coming in and busting it up every once in awhile to keep things in check but to go to ALL THAT EFFORT for nothing? Its stupid. Laws about this.... laws about that. I'd rather have people street racing then selling crack to kids or gang banging. Its a hobby fuckin get over it.

Our cops come by and check in on us and shit. If everything’s cool they leave us be. If there’s a complaint they ask us to leave. Hell sometimes they even give us ideas of where to go to next. There cool like that. We keep shit in check and they don't have to worry about us. But of course this is Rich, VA. Where cops have more important things to do then waist time giving Exhaust tickets. Ya know... because they understand that there is REAL crimes that are more important to deal with then racing on an empty road.

Oh and in the one spot they got busted by the cops for getting Gas at a Gas Station..... where’s the crime there? There wasn't one.... it was just harassment.

Pigs with nothing better to do is all that is. That or jealousy.

Street racing done right (empty road, middle of night, few people) is ok with me, and I dont think officers of the law should waste their time with that. however, most street racing dumbasses, who do it in city limits, on busy streets with loads of people around deserve what the law has to offer in the way of punishments.

Our cops here are the same as yours redline, they roll up to our meets to make sure things are ok, then leave. and they even are relatively cool with racing out in the boonies, because they know we went out of our way to make it less of a hazard to others.

Thats my take on street racing.

That's a good take on street racing, especially coming from a cop (if I am not mistaken) and a pilot :bigthumb:
I wish every cop was like you and actually gave a shit rather then harassing kids with over sized exhaust pipes

As for me, as much as I would love to race someone during the day in the city somewhere, I always put my brain on the line and think about the consequences - always think twice.

However if it's midnight in the middle of nowhere , hell yeah I would street race, and watching that video it wasn't like they were racing in the middle of a neighborhood.
