I've heard awesome things about the Spec Stage 2+ or the Stage 3. Alot of guys aren't doing the aftermarket flywheels because there is always the risk of a light flywheel exploding and ours just so happens to be pointed right at your face while driving. I really enjoy having my face and legs in one piece. Personally I'm looking at doing the Spec Stage 2+ with the stock flywheel rehoned and the stock throwout bearing. I've heard of the best results with this combination. Of course, my clutch isn't even dead yet and I'm at 65k and it still feels strong.

At 111,730 miles but will be changing soon to spec

I got 84,000 miles on my 2006 GT 6-speed. I got it at like 69,000 miles and I am the 3rd owner so idk how it was treated before that. I've only had my GT for about 14 months. I had a 2006 GS 5-speed for about a year before I traded up to my GT. :D

My clutch still feels pretty good. Every once in a while I'll feel my clutch slip a little bit, but not too often. In all honesty, I'm hoping to get a new clutch around 90,000 miles. That should give me at least 6+ more months to finish some of these basic mods I got planned and then save up a little.

112,300 time to change clutch is slipping

No vote yet for me. I'm at 70k on my first clutch and still not slipping. I did have a slave cylinder go out early on but no issues since then.

i would say very dependant on the driver for clutches.

i had a 99 vw jetta tdi that i bought with 119,000km on it, when i got rid of it, it had 202,000km on it, original clutch.

my winter beater (lady's car) is a 91 vw jetta 1.6L diesel, 298,000km on it, original clutch ( i have all the paperwork from previous owners )

my 2011 eclipse has 44,000km on it now with 0 clutch issues.
friend of mine has an 08 with 35,000 miles on it, original clutch as well.

I have about 22k on my auto tranny and its about done. Lmfao. Gs autos got JIPPED!!!!

I needed a new clutch after about 1mile. The second one went after 10k,, the 3rd about 20k, 4th lasted like 12k, the next one went after about 500 miles, the one I have now has been in about 4k miles and it slips when I use my nitrous

the clutch all depends on how hard its used and if proper shifting is being performed. if you shift like a tool and "grind" gears a lot, you'll see it slip fast.

One of the guys at the dealership i go to said that this girl came in after 100 miles on her brand new lancer, burnt her clutch. like WOW, bad driver???!!

I bought my 06 GT as the 3rd owner at 38,000 miles. it started slipping around 40k. I was pissed, but I assumed that it was beat to shit before I bought it. Replaced it with a new stock clutch a few thousand miles later. im @ 79k miles now and no problems!

You can easily tell if your clutch is slipping. for me, it started slipping in 6th, then progressively started slipping thru 5th, 4th, 3rd, then also in 2nd gear. You push down on the gas pedal and your RPM's just shoot up then go back down. feed it too much gas and it will continue to slip. treating the pedal like theres an egg underneath shouldn't cause too much further damage until you can afford to swap out the old clutch with a new one.

if you continue to let your clutch slip, you will wear out and basically torch your flywheel much faster, and eventually you will NOT be able to move the car at all until all of it gets replaced.

this is bad. extremely bad. either you drive with your foot resting on the clutch pedal (which will cause it to grind) or you aren't shifting right. switching gears before your foot is all the way down on the clutch pedal or letting up before youre in the gear all the way will usually do this too.

launching wrong will cause clutch wear too. if you launch using a lot of clutch, its just burning up. thats probably the fastest way a clutch goes- bad launching- usually holding the clutch pedal down for way too long while your foot is on the gas....

i would go back to the dealer on that one.... unless you did it yourself :p all i know is you can do major damage in an automatic to the tranny if you do a lot of "neutral dropping" - when youre in DRIVE and then drop the shifter to NEUTRAL just to give a rev (trying to be cool- it happened to my last auto car bc i did this) then you throw it back in DRIVE while still moving. BAD IDEA!!!!

also a leak in tranny fluid is bad too...see if you put a hole in the pan somewhere. keep an eye on your fluid level.

Had the car 2 days and had to have it towed back to the dealer as the clutch went out. :rant2: So what do I win

OK, it did have 58,000 on it when I bought it

i would be pissed man. did they at least give you a new clutch without charging you? (99% of dealers will consider this a wear-and-tear part no matter how many miles you put on it). If they did, you got lucky. :crunk:

Mine is slipping, I got about 82,000 miles. If I release the clutch slowly and rev-match when downshifting, I can floor it without any problem. But if I downshift and go WOT, I will suffer serious slipping. My last time at the track I ran a 14.6 @ 97 MPH, with some heavy slipping in 3rd gear, but I think that it can last a little bit more, maybe cross the 100K mile mark.
