while its out i would start building inside first. There are one set of BC rods left in the group buy if you would be interested buying the motor...
I got to pass on those for now. I'm going to stick with the original plan to get it in and running... once that is done, we are prolly looking at next year for building it up

Here's what I don't get, your gonna do far more work and invest more time and money than any of the GT guys for what will largly be a stock GT. Sure you have some boltons but if this were my swap I'd save my $ and all at once swap a fully build custom turbo with built block. Just my .02.

I know what you're saying Chaos, but I'm not looking to build a 600+ hp monster, I will be happy with a bolt on beast mated with a stage 1 SDS making ~350hp. I got nothing but time, if I'm feeling froggy in the later days, I'll slowly build it up for more hp.

Transmission arrived today, and its a heavy sonabitch, weighed in at 141lbs dry weight. I didn't weigh my gs 5spd, but had to been closer to 75lbs. First look of the tranny looks good, no obvious flaws. I was able to hand spin the spline in every gear and it was silky smooth.... as it should be with only 13k miles on it.

Here are your pics...

As soon as I'm turn key with the swap, the old motor goes on the chopping block.
NNiice, be good to have another Mitsu guy around this summer. I'll get at you sometime

Yeah Trev ur not so far from me near Syracuse either.....
Keep it up we should roll this summer.

The more I think about this the more I see why GS guys want to do it. Though I do think it is smarter just to sell the GS and get a GT, if that isn't an option then doing a swap to an engine with 100more horses and gobs more tq is sure going to feel nice over the GS.

We have a pretty good car scene here, you'll definitely want to get in on it this summer!

I got my GS cheap at $10k a year ago, and it would make sense to trade it in for a GT if I didn't already have money into it. Besides I've saved very little of the stock stuff -I'd actually loose money on trade if I went that route. I'm hoping to keep total cost around $3500 for the v6 swap, plus you need to factor in selling my perfectly good 4g69 which easily go for $1200 or more as a complete set. I don't know if anyone knows this, but the 4g69 is a sought after motor for Mitsubishi Mirage owners. If you youtube Mirage & 4g69 you will find plenty of drag vids... here's an example of a N/A running 13's 1/4 miles.

Yeah the 69 is sought after by a lot of people. Check out project zero G sometime its a sight about all the 4g6x sirrus series engine's and how they can be frankenstiened. A lot of the mirage guys like to destroke it.

Small update.... the ECU made it earlier in the week as promised by the seller. The kid on eBay douched out with the stock flywheel, had to open a dispute to get my money back after he did nothing after two weeks, the jerk then relisted it on ebay for twice as much from what I won it at. To top it off, the salvage yard I wanted to get the 6spd shifter assembly also couldn't pull through... so still prospecting parts before going back to the dealership to buy new... I'm trying to hold out as long as I can...

oh the joys...

excellent progress man. keep us posted. I love this project
