What Sensor is This?

Anyone know what this module / sensor is? It's fused with a 10 amp fuse that caused my headlights to stay on all the time key in or key out, with the headlight switch off. They stayed on permanently. The fuse is removed now to keep my headlights out.

It doesn't look OEM, and I've never heard of anyone else having their lights stay on permanently. That sounds like hell on the battery

Definitely aftermarket... maybe someone tried a botched HID install? That's strange.

Thanks for all of your answers. I took it apart to grab the part number but it didn't correspond to any Mitsubishi part number out there. I'm assuming I smoked it while shampooing the engine. It heated up the left headlight lense to where it's tinged and gritty now (ruined) and obviously killed the battery. Those damn mystery boxes!
