I think it's badass that your swapping out the 4g69 for the 6g75. I'll be watching this closely as it would be a killer swap for the ralliart as well. Keep it up:)
 
That would be cool, but definitely out of the budget :)



There's a sticky about transmission already detailing which is better, Slippercream's recommendation is the 4g 6spd manual over the 5spd g3 manual. Thanks for looking out though

I wasn't thinking gear ratios, I was thinking more along the line why EVO owners swap from the 6 speed to the 5 speed. It sure will be fun with the 6 however :)

However I do think its amazing that you're going through with it and the prices you're getting are killer.

I do believe a 5 speed 3g tranny would be more logical. Mitsu 6 speeds have horrible quality issues. Like previously mentioned the Evo MR 6 speed blows same with our 6sp. 5 speed has more liquid in the transfer case and holds up better.

4g63 just isn't in the budget, you got to figure intercooler, turbo upgrade, the custom work.. ugh.. the wiring alone is a crap shoot alone.... Just can't swing it bro.

Seriously? you sir are a dumb ass. The 6g75 is a better motor than the 4g63. And I've had zero problems with my 6 speed. Other than the shit stock clutch it's been nothing short of perfect.

When my bank roll hits may account next friday, I'll be focusing on what I need to get the motor into the car. I'm feeling getting the motor in is going to be the easiest part.. get it running.. not so easy.

Next on my list is Fidanza aluminum flywheel, flywheel bolts, transaxle mount, stay bracket, and cv axles.

Paycheck after that will go towards CM clutch kit, timing belt, tensioner, water pump, KYB struts... at that point, I'll be reviewing my situation and plan to mount the engine/tranny into the car... so we're looking at about five weeks out.

I'm going to start listing prices/places for the parts I still need to buy in the first post, if anyone knows of a better deal elsewhere, please help me out, PM me and give me the heads up.

Getrag 6 speed from the GT; and MR 6 speed are two different beasts and can not be compared. The MR 6 speed is a weak gear box so far the getrag has not proven to be so.

As far as to 63 and 75 arguments those are opinions based on no facts; are off topic and should be taken to another thread this one does not need to be cluttered.

I don't think it's opinion david why would you put a smaller motor in a car that weighs a metric fuckload. Stock for stock it's a no brainer.

while its out i would start building inside first. There are one set of BC rods left in the group buy if you would be interested buying the motor...
