It's very loud for my taste. The videos don't do it justice. It doesn't sound bad, but too loud. Taking it to 2.5k rpm sounds like I'm trying to lay down some 11s or instigate a race, so I have to be very careful and short shift religiously in city driving.

Yeah videos never can. Its hard to imagine that 2.5k rpm would be that loud. I have an exhaust cut out before my resonator and 2.5k isnt even that loud. Are you still thinking of trying to lower the sound?

I looked at that site and I think that would be great. I just wonder how it would sound with your current setup.

exhaust clip @ 4k rpm

To anyone thinking of purchasing or installing this exhaust, keep in mind that it may not fit. Piping is too long and won't clear. Had to take a hacksaw to it and cut out a 1.5" section before the muffler meets the mid-pipe. Not a big deal, but a nuisance just the same.

Looks great man, Sounds even better. What else do you have planned?

Well, I do hope they remake them and you get your hands on a set. They won't disappoint.

I'm looking hard at the Injen catback. The man at ACI says the price is supposed to jump up to $944 per unit, so now's the time to buy. Unfortunately, being Canadian, I'd take it in the teeth on shipping. They say $825 tax-in to my door. It's a lot, but at least you have the piece of mind knowing you're paying for a well developed product that will deliver.

yeah idk about trying to have them ship them. Have you thought of just going to your local exhaust shop and explaining the type of sound your looking for and seeing what they can do? Have you also thought about shipping it to a US location and just driving back? Like ship it to a US store that's closest and get it installed and then drive it back into Canada? Whatever you do im sure that it would sound awesome with your setup man.

Thanks. So far, everything looks kosher, already planning on dropping a few bills on a catback so hopefully it won't stay stock for long. I should've mentioned that I have an Injen CAI hooked up already and that may have slightly affected the exhaust note.

I'd email RRE sooner rather than later. They've discontinued their headers (both 2.4 and 3.8) and may have very few left in stock. If not, you could have to wait a few months before they make them again.

Unfortunately i will already have to wait this time next year or even longer :sad:
Im leaving the Military and im saving like crazy. Its actually why all my mods are on hold.

Any idea what type of catback your thinking of?

You commented faster than I could edit my post lol. Yeah, the buzzing/rasp is minor, and is even less noticeable when in the car. Not that much louder overall either (I didn't rev it past 5k in the other videos).

Well after watching all three of your videos i still stand by my previous post. Nothing but awesomeness! I need to do headers now too.....
Your video is extremely helpful, I have been trying to figure out what stock exhaust sounds like with rre headers. Since im trying to keep the sound pretty close to stock. I know that mine will probably sound different since i have dual exhaust(Well... Mitsubishi's version lol) My next sound clip or video is trying to figure out what rre headers and the intake sounds like with an exhaust cutout. Which i can find on every other car but ours.

Regardless thanks for the videos, they helped out perfectly. I hope your headers work out they way you want. I think tcscoccer09 is right in the fact that maybe putting a better resonator is needed for less buzzing aka the rasp*a*nator

I couldn't hear any buzzing.(I also have a hearing loss lol) I just heard a crap ton of awesomeness. Lol It doesn't really sound that much louder.

Nice, Im pretty jealous right now lol. Im glad you got them. I wonder why you have buzzing? Yes please do a video clip. If possible.... can you do a inside the car, outside the car with maybe a startup doing both and a drive by or two. Lol Im curious just to hear how it sounds with your exhaust setup.
